Florent R. “Friday” Yager, 78, Willow Hill, Illinois, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Thursday December 8, 2011, at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Home, Robinson, Illinois. Born in Jasper County on May 2, 1933, he was the son of Roy O. Yager and Margaret (Bergbower) Yager. On February 27, 1953 he married Dolores May Coan. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Friday was a heavy equipment operator for several years working for E. L. Stone and Dickerson’s Dozer Service. He was a lifetime member of the Ste. Marie American Legion Post #932 as well as a member of St. Valentine Catholic Church. Friday enjoyed gardening, woodworking and spending time with his family and many friends.

Friday is survived by his wife Dolores; five sons and daughters-in-laws Dan & Wendy Yager, David & Eva Yager, Scott & Karen Yager, Frank & Lisa Yager and Andy & Stacie Yager; three daughters and sons-in-laws Jennifer & Barry Bennett, Cindy & Rick Matheny and Sharon & Roy Tuttle; eighteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Francis & Judy Yager; sister and brother-in-law Jean & Gearold Goss as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friday is preceded in death by his parents; one son Robbie Yager; one great granddaughter Hailey; one sister Madeline Goss and one brother Paul Yager.

    Dolores, I saw on line That you husband passed away. No matter the cause, or knowing that he is no longer suffering, the loss is always felt forever.
