DONALD "EARL" TRACY
Donald "Earl" Tracy, 78 of Oblong, IL. Died Tuesday June 27, 2000
A.M. in the Emergency Room at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL.
Robinson, IL. Following an extended illness.
Earl was born February 16, 1922 in Robinson, IL. He was the son of James
Wiley and Opal Florence (Taylor) Tracy. He married Patricia Ann (Pat)
Sholders on May 29, 1947. Throughout the years, Earl had several
Occupations. He began as a roustabout in the oilfields for the
Ohio Oil Company, Bus driver for the Oblong School District,
Farmed, and was a mail carrier in Oblong for several years. Earl was a
Veteran of WW II, serving with the United States Army. He was a member
of First Christian Church of Oblong, and was active in his church. He
was also a member of the Oblong American Legion Post #219 and the
Oblong Gem City Club.
Earl is survived by his wife, Pat of Oblong, son William Lee "Bill"Tracy;
two daughters & Sons-In-Laws, Sue & Darrell Stephens, and
Mary & Tim Carter; 7 Grandchildren; 4 Great Granddaughters;
4 brothers and Sisters-In-Laws, Wayne & Dawn Ellen Tracy, Paul &
Audrey Tracy, Clarence & Molester Tracy and Leroy & Barbara Tracy;
1 sister, Helen Cruzen; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, William Earl &
Beverly Sholders; also surviving are several Nieces & Nephews.
His parents and 1 son (David Earl) precede Earl in death.
Funeral services are 10:30 A.M. Friday June 30, 2000 at Pulliam
Funeral Home, Oblong, with Bro. David Huey officiating. Burial will
Follow in the Oblong Cemetery. Military Graveside Rites will be
Conducted by Oblong American Legion Post # 219 & Oblong S.A.L.
Visitation, will be Thursday June 28, 2000 from 6 - 8 P.M. And Friday
Morning, until time of service, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Christian Children's Home, Oblong.
