<p>Leon D. Granby, 94, Olney, Illinois and formerly of Newton, Illinois passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Richland Care and Rehab.  Mr. Granby was born June 9, 1917 in Oblong, Crawford County, Illinois to Cleo P. Granby and Oma (Randolph) Granby.  He was a graduate of Oblong Township High School ~ Class of 1936.  Leon was a World War II veteran having served in the African and Italy Campaign.  He received numerous medals including one silver battle star.  He retired from Union Oil Company in 1982 as a field operator with 37 years of service.  He married June (Melton) on October 21, 1945.  He is survived by one son, Ron (Debbie) Granby, five daughters, Yvonna (Jeril) Clark, Linda (Jim) Fry, Connie (Bill) Hartleroad, Debbie (Alden) Blake and Sherry (Ken) Duncan.  He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 11 step great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Mr. Granby is preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, Carl, Don and Lawrence and a sister Mary Katherine Granby.  He was a member of the Newton Masonic Lodge #216 AF &amp; AM, having served as Master Mason twice, Newton American Legion Post #20, Olney VFW, and the Grace United Methodist Church of Newton.  He was an avid viewer of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy as well as a St. Louis Cardinal fan.  He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden.</p>
<p>Pastor Rusty Shields will be officiating the funeral service.  Burial will be in Wilkin Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois.</p>

<p>Gregory C. &#8220;Greg&#8221; Boyd, 62, Stoy, Illinois passed away at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012, in a auto accident South of Charleston, Illinois on Route 130.</p>
<p>  Born in Lawrenceville, Illinois on May 25, 1949, he was the son of Carl Edward Boyd and Shirley Ann (Von Almen) Boyd.  He was a graduate of Robinson High School ~ Class of 1968 and a graduate of Lockyear Business College.  He was of the Christian faith.  Greg was a member of the Oblong Sports Booster Club for many years.  He enjoyed scuba diving, racing at several race tracks and was an avid supporter of the family race team and he enjoyed dancing with his wife and friends.  He loved the time spent with his family and grandchildren.</p>
<p>On February 5, 1972, he married Mary Elizabeth &#8220;Betty&#8221; Mills, who survives.  Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Rob &amp; Jenni Boyd and John &amp; Amanda Boyd; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim &amp; Aaron Hopper and Cyndi &amp; Jay Lewis; seven grandchildren, Emily, Evan &amp; Eden Hopper,  James, Mark &amp; Chris Boyd and Felicia Tucker; a brother and sister-in-law, Jeff Boyd &amp; Vicki May and several cousins.</p>
<p>Pastor Joe Latson and Bro. Dee Wolfe will officiate the funeral service.  Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.</p>

<p>Arthur W. &#8221; Art&#8221; Gangloff, 62, Oblong, Illinois  passed away at 8:53 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012, at his residence.  Born in Oblong Township, Crawford County, Illinois on July 8, 1949, he was the son of Charles J. &#8220;Charlie&#8221; Gangloff and Edna M. (Shryock) Gangloff.  He was a graduate of Oblong High School &#8211; Class of 1967.  He was employed with Ferrell Gas, Oblong, Illinois for many years; State of Illinois as a road surveyor and later with Wabash Heat &amp; Gas, Hutsonville, Illinois as a service technician.  Art was of the Catholic faith.  He was a former member of the Robinson Elk&#8217;s Lodge #1188 and Iron Workers.  He enjoyed going to auctions, handyman work and the challenge of fixing anything.</p>
<p>On October 25, 1969, he married Billie Mehler, who survives.  Also surviving is one daughter and son-in-law, Frankie &amp; Ted Van Schoyck; four grandchildren, Justin Wade Van Schoyck, Clay Arthur Van Schoyck, E. H. &#8220;Tres&#8221; Mehler III and Koert William Mehler; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Gaylord R. Gangloff, Lee Allen &amp; Joetta Gangloff and Ronald Gean Gangloff; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Angelita &#8220;Angie&#8221; &amp; Richard Seamon and Patricia Ann Moore; E. H. &#8220;Ed&#8221; Mehler who was just like a son to Art; and several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Preceding Arthur in death were his parents and five brothers, Donald Dean, Norman Lewis, Charles E. &#8220;Buddy&#8221;, Jack James and Emanuel James &#8220;Jim&#8221; Gangloff.</p>

<p>Hobart &#8220;Junior&#8221; Sanders, 77, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 2:55 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2012, at his residence.  Born in Oblong, Illinois on September 8, 1934, he was the son of Allen Sanders and Nettie Ellen (Weck) Sanders.  He served in the U. S. Army.  He was married to Trudy Birch from 1960 &#8211; 1973.  He was employed with Briggs Pottery in Robinson, Illinois retiring after 42 years; owner of Sanders Furniture Store in Oblong.  Junior attended the Oblong Wesleyan Church.  He was a former Past Master of the Oblong Masonic Lodge #644 AF &amp; AM and the Oblong American Legion Post #219.  He enjoyed horse racing.</p>
<p>Junior is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry &amp; Bonnie Sanders and Randy Sanders; a daughter, Tonia Holubek; six grandchildren, Thomas Holubek, Ryan Holubek, Tiffany &amp; Jacob Griffin, Erica &amp; Adam Herr, Summer Sanders and Sierra Sanders; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, David Sanders; a sister, Jo Carter; two sisters-in-law, Elzora Sanders and Darlene Sanders; several nieces &amp; nephews; companion Betty Masters.</p>
<p>Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers &amp; sisters, Ralph Musgrave, Marie Ikemire, Ethel Lyons, Dorothy Hursey, Floyd Sanders, Paul Max Sanders, Carl Sanders, Louise Higginbothem, Kate Murphy, Ruth Bruner, Margaret Shaffer and three infant siblings.</p>
<p>Rev. Leonard Waller will officiate the memorial service.  It was Junior&#8217;s wish to be cremated, burial of his cremated remains will be held at a later date in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.</p>

<p>Shirley M. Catt, 79, Hardinville, Illinois passed away at 6:10 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012, at the Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, Illinois.</p>
<p>Born in Olney, Illinois on November 14, 1932, she was the daughter of Theodore Gregory and Nettie Albin.  Shirley was a graduate of Olney High School ~ Class of 1950.  She was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Hardinville United Church, Hardinville, Illinois; she also attended the Hardinville Christian Church, Hardinville, Illinois.  She was a member of the Hardinville Stitch &amp; Sew Club.  Shirley helped people in anyway she could and she also enjoyed mowing and keeping herself busy.</p>
<p>On March 7, 1954, she married Warren Catt, who preceded her in death on May 12, 2004.  Also preceding her in death were her parents; one great-grandson, Jacob Warren Catt and two nephews Dan &amp; Ted Gregory.</p>
<p>Shirley is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Greg &amp; Karen Catt; a grandson, Justin &amp; Heather Catt and a great-grandson who is due in April, 2012; a brother and sister-in-law, Clifford &amp; Carolyn Gregory; a brother-in-law, Norman Catt and several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Bro. Jeff Brinkman will officate the funeral service.  Burial will be in the Hardinville Cemetery, Hardinville, Illinois.</p>

Harris, 89, Oblong, Illinois passed away 3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, Illinois.  Born in Oblong Township, Crawford County, Illinois on September 4, 1922, she was the daughter of Cecil Kirts and Junia Mae (Davis) Kirts.  She was a farm wife.  She was a member of the Seed Chapel United Methodist Church, rural Oblong; member of the the Methodist Women&#8217;s group at Seed Chapel years ago.  She enjoyed sewing and gardening.</p>
<p>On November 19, 1938, she married Eugene E. &#8220;Gene&#8221; Harris, who preceded her in death on December 17, 2006.  Also preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter Rita Kay Harris; two brothers, David &amp; Russell Kirts; four sisters, Velma Aten, Thelma Ikemire, Evelyn Lee &amp; Wanda Angerer and several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Mary is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bob &amp; Madeline Harris; three grandsons, Cris &amp; Jeri Harris, Craig &amp; Kim Harris and Chad &amp; Bridgette Harris; five great-grandchildren: Jeron Harris, Jordon Harris, Taylor Harris, Bryce Harris &amp; Erin Harris; several nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Harold Harris and a sister-in-law, Monica Harris.</p>

<p>Richard D. &#8220;Dick&#8221; Myers, 71, Robinson, Illinois passed away at 12:05 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012, at the Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, Illinois.  Born in the Calhoun area of Richland County, Illinois on May 17, 1940, he was the son of Charles T. Myers and Eva (Johnson).  He was a graduate of East Richland High School ~ Class of 1958.  He owned and operated Myers Auto Trim for 40 years from 1971 &#8211; 2011.  He was a member and past Exaltent Ruler Robinson Elk&#8217;s Lodge #1188; White Squirrels Motorcycle Club and ABATE Motorcycle Club.  Dick enjoyed camping, motorcycles, gardening and just loved to be outdoors.</p>
<p>From March 1958 &#8211; 1967 he was married to Barbara Dean; from 1968 &#8211; 1990, he was married to Barbara &#8220;Barbie&#8221; Rich and from July 1993 &#8211; 2001 he was married to Linda (Keith) Brown.  Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Steven R. &amp; Paula J. Myers; two daughters, Peggy S. Price and Gina K. Smith; six grandchildren: Tyler &amp; Carolyn Price, Emily Price, Austin Smith, Colin Smith, Lewis Myers and Harlei Myers; a great-grandson, Lincoln Charles Price; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Kenny Myers and Dewey &amp; Karen Myers; four sisters and a brother-in-law: Marie Reynolds, Dorothy &amp; John McDowell, Betty Brammeier and Conni Stevens; and several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Preceding Dick in death were his parents; a brother, Chester Lee Myers; step-mother, Debra Lee Myers and a niece.</p>
<p>Officiating the funeral service will be Bro. Jeff Monroney and Pastor Rusty Morecraft.</p>

<p>Martha B. Baldwin, 84, Albuquerque, New Mexico and formerly of the Sumner, Illinois area passed away Friday, December 30, 2011, at the St. Theresa Rehabilitation Health Care Center, Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Born in Washington, Indiana, she was the daughter of Benjamin Waller and Martha Beatrice (Wood) Waller.  She was a homemaker.</p>
<p>Martha married James Lloyd Baldwin, who preceded her in death in 1968.  Also preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers.</p>
<p>Martha is survived by one son, Dr. James L. Baldwin; one sister, Marjorie &#8220;Marge&#8221; Carter; a brother-in-law, Larry Baldwin &amp; family; and a cousin, Harold Price.</p>
<p>Burial will be in the Hardinville Cemetery, Hardinville, Illinois</p>

<p>Donna M. Bailey, 81, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 1:57 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at the Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, Illinois.  Born in Robinson, Illinois on April 5, 1930, she was the daughter of Espy Wilby Waldrop and Bonnie Alice (Hale) Waldrop.  She was a homemaker; nurse&#8217;s aid at Allen Sanitarium; waitress at the Highway Cafe, Oblong and later was employed at L. S. Heath &amp; Son Candy Factory.  She was a member of  the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Oblong; American Legion Auxiliary Post #69 and former member of the Women of the Moose.  Donna liked to read, cook, knit, watch tv and travel.  Donna also helped others learn how to read and do math.</p>
<p>On October 25, 1947, Donna married Donald E. Bailey, who survives.  Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike &amp; Lydia Bailey and Van &amp; Sharon Bailey; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam &amp; David Bennett; nine grandchildren, Kyle &amp; Tawnya Bailey, Kirk &amp; Kendra Bailey, Darice Bailey, David Shawn Chamblin, Michelle &amp; Kenny Brown, Marci &amp; Chad Crandall, Sandy &amp; Paul Kreps, Chris &amp; Melody Bennett and Kellli &amp; Ryan Cooke; fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy &amp; Carol Waldrop; a brother-in-law, Harold &#8220;Pud&#8221; Fry and several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Donna was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Delores Harris and Patty Fry; and a brother-in-law, Gene Harris</p>
<p>Rev. Howard Bell will officiate the funeral service.  Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.</p>

<p>Willis M. Calvert, 86, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 9:07 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2011, at the Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois.  Born in Hunt City Township, Jasper County, Illinois on June 19, 1925, he was the son of Ira Calvert and May Harrison.  Willis worked as a farm hand for Dale Aklin in the Hunt City area for many years and later for Lawrence Crawford Enterprises, Robinson, Illinois.  In his early years Willis attended Bethany Church, rural Jasper County, Illinois and recently attended the Oblong Wesleyan Church.  He was a resident of the Oblong CILA Home for 15 years.</p>
<p>Willis is survived by his close friends at the CILA Homes and loyal friends, Berlin &amp; Gala Yockey.</p>
<p>Preceding Willis in death were his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Wilson &amp; Edith Calvert; three half brothers, Louis, Clarence and Morris Calvert.</p>
<p>Bro. Jeff Monroney will officiate the memorial service.  Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.</p>
