<p>Charlene Ruddell, 91, Charleston, Illinois and formerly of Crawford County, Illinois passed away at 8:40 A.M. at the Lakewood Village, Charleston, Illinois.  Born in Oblong, Illinois on June 6, 1920, she was the daughter of Charles Ames and Yone Waid.  She was self-employed-owned Ruddell Grocery Stores in Oblong and Robinson for many years then worked at Big John&#8217;s, Gallo&#8217;s, Sears and the Eagle Shoe Shore in Robinson, Illinois.  She was a member of the East Harrison Street Church of God, Charleston, Illinois.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching tv, cross stitching and quilting.</p>
<p>In 1936, she married Karl Franklin Ruddell, who preceded her in death in 1970.  Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Arthur &#8220;Keith&#8221; Ruddell, an infant grandson and two sisters, Doretha Cravens and Roberta Warters.</p>
<p>Charlene is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul &amp; Janet Ruddell; a daughter and son-in-law, Karla &amp; Burl Martin; nine grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Bev Newbold; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Pastor Curt Weaver will officiate the funeral service.  Burial will be in the Prairie Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois.</p>

<p> Steve Moyes, from Oblong, passed away on Saturday, May 5th, 2012 at the age of 55 while enjoying his favorite hobby &#8211; hunting.  He is the son of Paul and Donna Moyes.  He grew up in Olney, Illinois with his brother and sister, David Moyes and Paula Moyes-Moskovitz.  Steve was the proud father of two sons, Jeremy and Brett, who shared their father&#8217;s love of the outdoors.  Brett and his wife, Whitney, are expecting their first child, Kenneth, in July and Steve was excited about becoming a grandfather.  He was also a loving uncle to his nephews Nathan, Rhyan, Levi and Eric and great nephews Wesley and Layne.  He spent much of his time with his long time companion, Gail Chapman, and his friends Toad, Randy and Don.  Steve will be greatly missed.</p>
<p>Steve graduated from East Richland High School in 1974 and served four years in the US Army.  After returning home, he worked with his cousin in petro maintenance and then as a dispatcher for R&amp;R Carriage.  He also enjoyed taking care of animals with Gail at Canine Corner in Willow Hill.  When not enjoying his time hunting or fishing, Steve could be found relaxing with his family and friends.</p>
<p>Steve&#8217;s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all of the volunteers involved in the search effort and to the people and organizations who provided food and water for those volunteers.</p>

<p>Florine &#8220;Joy&#8221; Rennier, 90, Olney, Illinois passed away at 12:20 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, Illinois.  Born in Jasper County, Illinois on October 4, 1921, she was the daughter of C. R. &#8220;Bob&#8221; Harvey and Della (Heady) Harvey.  She was a waitress at Town &amp; Talk Restaurant &amp; Turnipseed&#8217;s Restaurant, Olney, Illinois and also a homemaker.  She was a member of the St. Joe Catholic Church, Olney, Illinois.  She enjoyed woodcrafts, antique automobiles and going to shows for both of them.</p>
<p>On July 15, 1943, she married Raphael Thomas &#8220;Ralph&#8221; Rennier, who survives.  Also surviving is one son and daughter-in-law, Michael &#8220;Mike&#8221; &amp; Vickie Rennier; one grandson, David &amp; Michele Rennier; one sister-in-law, Eileen Michl and several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Dorris, Ray and Charles Harvey and two sisters,  Ada Lindamann and Irene Krewer.</p>
<p>Rev. Howard Bell will officiate the service with burial in Westlawn Memorial Park, Newton, Illinois.</p>

<p>Jessie Louise Howell, 78, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 5:02 P.M. Friday, May 4, 2012, at her residence.  Born in Newton, Illinois on October 4, 1933, she was the daughter of Jesse Albert Duckworth and Maggie Marie Louise (Windeknecht) Duckworth.  Her mother died when Jessie was 6 years old and she was raised by her father.  She was employed as a dishwasher at the Hi-Way Cafe in Oblong Illinois from 1984 &#8211; 2008.  She was baptized by Bro. Don Houdasheldt.  Her hobbies included quilting and dancing and she loved her pet dog Ben.</p>
<p>On December 11, 1951, she married Raymond Verl Howell, who preceded her in death on April 19, 1984.  Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Gregory Lee Howell; three brothers: Gene, Dale and Gale Duckworth and her step-mother, Sylvia Duckworth.</p>
<p>Jessie is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Raymond L. &amp; Barbara Howell; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne L. &amp; Don Burchell, Kimberly &amp; Bob Carter and Ellena &#8220;Lena&#8221;; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Amanda M. Waldrop; two step-brothers, Larry Moore and John Moore; several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Bro. Don Houdasheldt will officiate the funeral service.  Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.</p>

<p>Maxine Miller, 90, Oblong, Illinois passed away Saturday afternoon, April 28, 2012 at her residence.  Born in Crawford County, Illinois, she was the daughter of Edward Fritz and Hattie (Watts) Fritz.  Maxine graduated at the top of her class from Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes and was the Director of Nursing at Crawford County Convalescent Center, Robinson, Illinois and later a Registered Nurse at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois retiring in 1979.  She was a member of the White Oak Christian Church, rural Oblong, Illinois.</p>
<p>On July 28, 1943, she married Floyd Eugene Miller, who preceded her in death on June 28, 2009.  Also preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Jean Fritz and a brother-in-law, Bob Russell.</p>
<p>Maxine is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Alan &amp; Debra Miller; a daughter and son-in-law, Paula &amp; Anthony &#8220;Tony&#8221; Pavia; five grandchildren, Athena Miller, Joni &amp; Tyler Collums, Brittany Miller, Parker Pavia and Preston Pavia; three great-grandchildren, Aubree Collums, Mara Collums and Mason Collums; a sister, Joan Russell; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray &amp; Janet Miller; several nieces and nephews and special care givers great-niece, Emmie Jo (Russell) Liddle and great-nephew, Ova Russell.</p>

<p>Marjorie Jean Stoltz, 84, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 9:27 p.m. Eastern Time, Thursday, April 26, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Indiana.  Born in Jasper County, Illinois on May 6, 1927, she was the daughter of Irvin Joe Dickey and Elsie A. (Sempsrott) Dickey.  She was a babysitter for many years as well as a homemaker.  She was a member of the First Christian Church, Oblong, Illinois.  She enjoyed gardening, television especially &#8220;Wheel of Fortune&#8221; and being with children.</p>
<p>On October 12, 1946, she married Selvin Eugene Stoltz, who survives.  Also surviving is one daughter, Sherilyn &#8220;Sherry&#8221; Tucker; a granddaughter, Heather (Tucker) &amp; Heath Uppencamp; a great-grandson, Braylon Uppencamp.</p>
<p>Preceding Marjorie in death were her parents; two sisters, Mary Evelyn (Dickey) Matheny and Neva Ruth (Dickey) Kirk; and one brother, Rex E. Dickey who was killed in W. W. II serving in the U. S. Air Force.</p>
<p>Bro. Dee Wolfe will officiate the funeral service.  Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.</p>

<p>Richard W. &#8220;Doc&#8221; Wilkin, 86, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at the Mercy Living Center South, Clinton, Iowa.  Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 21, 1925, he was the son of Dr. Clinton H. Wilkin, DPS and L. Grace (Miller) Wilkin.  He was a graduate of Oblong High School ~ Class of 1944. He served with the U. S. Navy during W. W. II from 1944 &#8211; 1946.  He graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1951 with a Degree in Speech Therapy.  He was employed with the Oblong School District as a Speech Therapist and also coached Oblong Grade School basketball, baseball and track.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church; Robinson Elks Lodge #1188; Illinois Retired Teachers Association and the National Education Association.  His hobbies included fishing, gardening, sport enthusiast and Chicago Cubs.</p>
<p>On April 17, 1954, he married Margaret Jo Jarboe, who survives.  Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Bill &amp; Jean Wilkin and Jim &amp; Silvana Wilkin; seven grandchildren, Courtney &amp; husband Chris Radke, Sarah &amp; husband Micaiah Lufcy, Andrew &amp; wife Jackie Wilkin, Colleen &amp; fiance Travis Temple, Quinn Wilkin, Katy Wilkin and Jake Wilkin; five great-grandchildren, Caden Wilkin, Owen Radke, Sophia Lufcy, Chloe Wilkin &amp; Hudson Radke.</p>
<p>Preceding Richard in death were his father, Dr. Clinton H. Wilkin; his mother, L. Grace Wilkin and one uncle, Robert Miller.</p>
<p>Pastor Phil Boyd will officiate the funeral service.  Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.</p>

<p>Charles M. Davis, 97, rural Robinson, Illinois passed away at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at his residence.  Born near Stoy, Crawford County, Illinois on February 7, 1915, he was the son of John Claude Davis and Arizona Maude Della (Morgan) Davis.  He was a graduate of Oblong Township High School ~ Class of 1933.  He farmed all his life.  He was an Elder at the Oblong First Christian Church for many years where he taught Sunday School for Junior High and High School boys for several years.  Member of the Crawford County Farm Bureau and several farm organizations; served on several farm boards; 4-H Leader for many years; he loved gospel music and sang in several quartet&#8217;s</p>
<p>Charles is survived by three nieces, Mindy Buerskins, Megan Smith and Emily Davis; one nephew, Nickoulas Davis and special friends and caregivers Kelly &amp; Crystal Davis and family.</p>
<p>Preceding Charles in death were his parents; a brother &amp; sister-in-law, Eugene A. &amp; Frances Davis; a sister, Catherine Davis and two nephews.</p>
<p>Bro. Dee Wolfe &amp; Steve Allen will officiate the funeral service.  Burial will follow in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.</p>

<p>Donna D. Williams, 65, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 11:25 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois.  Born in Robinson, Illinois on February 11, 1947, she was the daughter of Luther Leroy Murphy and Thelma L. (Fuson) Murphy.  She was employed with Ettlebrick Shoe Company, Robinson, Illinois; beautician; and janitor for the First Baptist Church, Oblong, Illinois.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Oblong, Illinois where she was very active and taught Sunday School.  She was a graduate of Colburns Academy of Beauty Culture, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.  She liked doing for other&#8217;s; being with people and she loved her family.</p>
<p>On February 14, 1970, she married Kenneth Edward Williams, who preceded her in death on June 27, 2008.  Also preceding her in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Winfred &#8220;Wimp&#8221; and Kate Murphy; and a brother-in-law, Darrell Sparks.</p>
<p>Donna is survived by a son, Kenneth Leroy &#8220;Kent&#8221; Williams; a granddaughter, Ashlei Williams; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Coreta Sparks and Cheryl &amp; Richard Stephens; several nieces and nephews; special friends Melissa Brashear and son Jerry Brashear and one aunt Janet Robertson, California.</p>
<p>Pastor Rusty Morecraft will officiate the funeral service.  Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.</p>

<p>Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Austin D. McCullough Education Fund with envelopes available at or may be mailed to the funeral home or deposited at any of the First Financial Bank locations.</p>
<p>Dr. Robert J. &#8220;Bob&#8221; McCullough, 62, Naperville, Illinois and formerly of Oblong, Illinois passed away at 3:47 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at this residence.  Born in Austin, Texas on March 26, 1950, he was the son of John Robert &#8220;J. R.&#8221; McCullough and Lela L. (Wiman) McCullough.  He was a Veterinarian and Vice-President of Crete Oil Company.  He was a graduate of Crete-Monee High School ~ Class 0f 1968 where he made 1st Team &#8220;All Chicago&#8221; in Basketball.  He earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa University &#8211; May 1977 in Veterinary Medicine specializing in Equine, he also donated his time to the Humane Society and friends with small animals in need.  He was listed in Who&#8217;s Who in Veterinary Science and Medicine, Second Edition, 1991 &#8211; 1992.  He developed new equine medications and products which some were used by the U. S. Equestrian Olympic Team in 1984.  He was a big fan of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Bears.  He will be missed by his family, friends, colleagues, clients and especially his dog Petunia.</p>
<p>Survivors include his son, Austin D. McCullough; his mother, Lela McCullough; a brother and sister-in-law, John A. &amp; Lynda McCullough; a sister and brother-in-law, Gayle &amp; John Fazzini; three nephews, Jeff Meek, Dr. Douglas Meek and James N. McCullough; and a special friend, Jill Cotte.</p>
<p>Preceding Bob in death was his father; one brother, James W. &#8220;Jimbo&#8221; McCullough and former wife Catherine McCullough.</p>
<p> A private family graveside service will follow the public gathering.</p>
